Cold Cathode Discharge, for some reason, the Cold Cathode Discharge photo cell has been wrongly dubbed as a 'charge coupled device' which is incorrect as far as the correct physical interpretation of this device. A charge coupled device is like a drum on a laser printer or photo-copier, which is electrostatically charged and parts of the surface are discharged by a laser beam allowing the toner to become 'coupled' with the discharged portions and then transfer to the un-charged paper.
